THE SHOPS AT TANFORAN

The expansion of Tanforan Park Mall transformed this suburban shopping center into a multi-modal, mixed-use commercial complex showcasing grand civic spaces and transit-related retail opportunities linked to the BART subway station and the surrounding neighborhood. An outdoor plaza with restaurants, a bookstore, and a water feature provides access from the street. Inside the redesigned concourses, two levels of shops are organized around a spacious, light-filled courtyard that connects to the BART station. The design incorporates sustainable energy and construction strategies.
