Two interconnecting penthouse floors in the heart of Los Angeles' financial district offered the structure and space the architectural firm needed to transform speculative offices into a sophisticated workspace. Leveraging the views and light, the designers developed a plan that put the architects workstations near the window walls, glazing on enclosed offices and democratically situated conference rooms at the corners for firm-wide use. The design takes advantage of the column free space to lift the ceiling between the beams into coffers to create a sense of openness.
